Meghan Ross
Meghan Ross is a New York-born, Jersey-raised, Austin-based writer, director, and comedian who loves to create comedy that has as much heart as humor while making social issues more accessible than miserable. As a director and screenwriter, she’s part of the Blackmagic Collective Emerging Filmmaker Initiative, The Tasajillo Residency, and Rideback Rise Circle. She was also selected for Women at Sundance Adobe Fellowship, Sundance Episodic Lab, NewNarratives grant from NewFilmmakers LA & Warner Bros. Discovery’s OneFifty, and Table Read My Screenplay: Park City’s Top 10 Finalists for her half-hour comedy Here to Make Friends (also her personal tagline).
Meghan and her brother Justin directed and produced a short film proof of concept of her Sundance pilot, which screened all over the country, including So Fucked It’s Funny, Austin Film Society ShortCase, Bentonville Film Festival, Austin Asian American Film Festival, The Front Festival, Miami Short Film Festival (where it was nominated for Best Comedy), Portland Film Festival, Blackmagic Collective Film Festival, and opened up for RRR at the Hyperreal Film Club screening at The Paramount Theatre in Austin.
She's written, produced, and directed short films and creator content for Adobe and her earlier shorts premiered on The New Yorker, making their Best of 2020 list: If You Ever Hurt My Daughter, I Swear to God I’ll Let Her Navigate Her Own Emotional Growth featuring narration by Jon Hamm (nominated for The Webby Awards), and Finally a Female Presidential Candidate Likable Enough For Men featuring narration by Rachel Bloom. Meghan is currently the Head of Creator Success at indie crowdfunding site Seed&Spark and previously worked for VICELAND and SundanceTV.
